A Welcome from President Brian N. Guenther

In 1908, the first graduating class of SMA, the Class of 1909, stepped foot on our original campus on Academy Street. Decades later, seniors in the 116th class, the Class of 2024, are in the process of completing their Upper School education on our Ranch Road 12 campus.  This past school year, we welcomed the youngest students ever at the Academy when we initiated a PreK Program. How blessed we are to partner with parents in overseeing the education of all our students, from those just starting out to those almost at the finish line.

San Marcos Academy is settled within the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country, just outside of San Marcos. Our 220-acre campus allows us the opportunity to provide students a competitive edge when they move into career opportunities or enroll in University higher education. Above all, our Christian heritage encourages our students in their faith as we become the shining light on a hill, not just in Texas, but throughout the world.

Since its founding, San Marcos Academy has educated students from around the globe. Both our Boarding and Day programs are designed to provide a strong academic foundation, built on excellence, as well as to equip our students with the values and virtues that enable them to become upstanding citizens. The opportunities for leadership are extensive, and students are encouraged to get involved in campus organizations, athletics, fine arts, and service to the surrounding community.

We look forward to seeing you on the SMA Campus and giving you a taste of the “Academy Experience.”

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian N. Guenther, Ed.D.
